FAQ

How long in advance should I book an appointment?

As with most medical offices, we ask that you schedule routine appointments at least a month in advance. Of course, more urgent skin care issues will be taken into account and scheduled accordingly. We ask that you make any returning or follow-up appointments prior to leaving our office on the day of your visit.

What form of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, personal checks, insurance checks endorsed to Dr. Ulmer, Visa, and MasterCard.

What is your insurance policy?

For those patients who are covered by insurance, we will be happy to bill on your behalf, whenever medically applicable, as long as we are a contracted provider with your insurance company. Our doctors consider out of network providers for all insurance plans. We will provide you with an itemized claim form that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement dependent upon your specific plan.

How much time should I allot for an office visit?

We generally tell patients to allow at least one hour from the time they arrive to the time they leave. You must also take into consideration that medical emergencies may arise, which may affect your wait time.

Do you accept MediCal?

We do accept MediCal only if the patient is also covered under MediCare.

Do you accept walk-in appointments?

We carefully balance our doctors’ schedules daily to maximize our level of patient care; therefore, we are unable to accommodate unscheduled patients. However, we will gladly schedule you for the next available appointment.
